Packaging Project

For my packaging project, I will be doing Goody hair ties. My inspiration for this project is to create an actual box type packaging to hold the hair ties. I find with Goody's current packaging, there are no storage options for the hair ties. This results in my continuous loss of hair ties. I am hoping to create a jewelry type boutique box to hold the hair ties. Wish me luck!

Building on Event Poster

For my Florence and the Machine, I will be building upon this medical journal sketch of some lungs (since her albums name is Lungs). My plan so far is to place various things within the lungs I associate with Florence and the Machine. Then I will be labeling various parts, like a medical dissection, with the showtime and place of the concert.

Event Poster

For my event poster, I was thinking of a concert poster for one of my favorite artists "Florence and the Machine." "Florence and the Machine" is a single woman band with Florence Welch. Sine she has yet to play a show in Atlanta, I thought it would be fun to make up a poster for her tour playing at the Tabernacle (in my dreams.)

Final Bookcover. WOOO!

Blood added

Chosen photos for book cover

For my photos, I shot my friend Caitlin in a typographic like style in her vanity mirror. I am planning to change the lips and the blood stains to red to create a more dramatic effect.

Book of Interest

For our book cover assignment, I have chosen Chuck Palahniuk's Invisible Monsters. Although I read a lot, this is a book that as stuck with me since I first read it at age 15. Here I have enclosed a small teaser concerning the book:
Invisible Monsters details the life of the model Shannon McFarland, who loses her jaw after a stray bullet strikes it off. Almost immediatley, she loses her career as a model, and after looking at her disfigured face, her fiance quickly calls off the engagement.
Her life becomes chaotic and pointless until one day she runs into the attractive Brandy Alexander, a would-be transsexual who is one step away from becoming a woman. Brandy instantly latches onto the pain and sorrow that Shannon is feeling, and begins to console her, helping her figure out what direction she can take her life in now that she's lost everything she had before the accident.
Everything is not what it seems, however, and Shannon receives several not-too-subtle hints that her ex-fiance, Manus, and her ex-best-friend, Evie, may have had something to do with Shannon's disfigurement.
Shannon and Brandy team up to set things right and generally make life miserable for Manus and Evie. But as they learn more about themselves and the people they are after, the reader and Shannon both begin to realize that everything, Shannon's accident, her career, her family, and Brandy, are all connected in some hilariously twisted manner.
